Jewelry – April 12

My daughter Sandra is currently moving into the world of Zoom presentations.  One of her friends sent her a whole box of shiny presentation necklaces. These necklaces are apparently a current fad.  I can relate to this.  Now that I am storytelling on Zoom, much of my storytelling apparel is not being used because the camera on my computer shows me from the waist up.  Sandra says that she picked out the “shiny” pieces she wanted and then decided to expand the joy.  She posted jewelry pictures on Twitter and mailed necklaces to the people who wanted them.  I asked for a necklace with shiny green plastic .  I wore it for storytelling last Wednesday.

Service to others and sharing what I have is important to me.  Sheltering at home for Covid-19 has impacted my ability to do this.  I have not been able to go help clean the house of a sick friend or take a lonely person out to lunch or give a friend a ride to somewhere.  But I have found ways to serve.

Sheltering tightly at home has been a gift to my children because they don’t have to worry about me.  Additionally, I dug into my fabric and sewing stashes and made masks.  During this past year I have made over a hundred masks for family and friends. I love to hear people say that my masks are the best ones.

I can bake brownies, cookies, and nut breads to share with others.  I can prepare dinners for the missionaries in my Church.

I am Zoom Storytelling twice a month. On the first Wednesday of each month at 11 AM Pacific time, I tell interactive stories to preschoolers and lower elementary students.  On the third Monday at 7 PM Pacific Time I have a Storytelling for All Ages program. I send out emails and reminders with the Zoom links.  My schedule is always posted on my website:  Rosethestorylady.net

I love finding new stories to share and I enjoy interacting with my audience. Covid-19 can’t change who I am.  I am resourceful. I will always find ways to continue giving and sharing.
